I live in an exquisite city. it is a challenge to depict in a new yet realistic way. That was my goal. i also included in this, the first in my refection series, my personal symbols- motherhood, faith, and loyalty.

Carolyn Epperly

After teaching art on Prince Island, Canada, for two years, I visited Charleston and fell in love with its beauty. Moving to Charleston, I taught Latin at a private school and took a watercolor class from Virginia Fouche Bolton. Watercolor became my passion, I married a native Charlestonian and when my daughters were born the painting became a second career. I have studied watercolor and oil painting under many nationally known artists such as Glenn Bradshaw, Katherine Chang Liu, and Ralph Smith. Receiving many awards,I have also earned signature status in National Watercolor Society (NWS), Watercolor USA Honor Society (WHS), and International Society of Experimental Artists (ISEA), and South Carolina Watermedia Society (SCWS).
